The Soccer desk is one of GameQuants’ founding desks, covering the major European leagues with a mix of expected-goals modeling, possession-value work and transfer-market pricing.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain xG, possession-value and transfer-valuation models for our core European leagues
- Turn model output into weekly published articles alongside our Soccer desk writers
- Own data-quality checks against public match APIs and licensed tracking-data feeds
- Partner with the editorial process to document and defend model assumptions
What we're looking for
- 2+ years working with sports or comparable event data (SQL + Python or R)
- Comfort explaining a statistical model to a non-technical reader
- Genuine familiarity with European soccer at a tactical level
- Nice to have: experience with tracking data or spatial models
