Lead forecasting and rating-system work across the Tennis desk — serve/return value models, surface-adjusted Elo, and the calibration checks that keep our published probabilities honest.

The Tennis desk covers the tour with a forecasting-first lens — this role owns the rating systems and calibration work behind every published probability.
What you'll do
- Maintain surface-adjusted rating systems and pre-match forecasting models for the tour
- Run ongoing calibration checks against actual outcomes and publish the results honestly
- Extend forecasting methodology to new formats (doubles, exhibition, junior tour) as the desk grows
- Work with the Chess desk on shared rating-system infrastructure
What we're looking for
- Strong applied statistics background — regression, Elo/Glicko-style rating systems, calibration metrics
- Experience building and backtesting forecasting models against real outcomes
- Clear written communication; you'll co-author published pieces, not just build models in private
- Nice to have: prior tennis analytics or sports-trading experience
