Write the Football desk's weekly analysis — EPA-based grading, fourth-down decision studies and stabilization research — working from data our analysts prepare.

This is a contract, in-season role on the Football desk, working closely with our data analyst to turn weekly model output into published articles.
What you'll do
- Turn weekly model output (EPA, pressure rate, win-probability data) into published articles
- Work directly with our Football data analyst to sanity-check figures before publication
- Maintain the desk's voice: data-led, plainly written, no unearned certainty
- Contribute story ideas based on what the data is actually showing week to week
What we're looking for
- Published sports-writing samples, ideally data-informed football coverage
- Comfortable reading a model's output without needing to build the model yourself
- Reliable weekly availability during the football season
- Nice to have: existing familiarity with EPA/DVOA-style advanced stats
